Just for a change I thought I might have a little talk to you.

  1. What a cool blog entry. How lovely to hear from you. I've told Paul before he should actually also do a blog entry like this one, but he hasn't yet. I should tell him again. I liked your music demonstrations - you are so much better than me. I am what is known as a professional bathroom singer :-)

  2. Sailor's Hornpipe, I think that is the tune that you did. I like the sound of the pennywhistle, I wonder why I have never heard of it.

  3. Yes, Kay, that is the Sailor's Hornpipe. John, you are doing magnificently on your penny whistle. Your abode with Sadie in front is beautiful.

  4. It was nice talking to you, too, John. Hope you could hear me chatting and answering back and occasionally laughing. You looked ever so calm and composed whilst talking into that inanimate object. I wouldn't dare try it. Have you just painted your place? ... it looks sparklingly new.

    1. I just pretended I was talking to my blog friends in person Valerie. Go on give it a try! The wagon doesn't look so good close up. The sun wreaks havoc on all my fancy designs.

  6. John that was lovely and how nice to hear what you sound like. Great idea this video, enjoyed the music both vocal and instrumental. You'll have to give us another demo when the new penny whistle arrives.

  9. You're a natural in front of the camera John. I hope you do more of these.

Is it just me or did your font size jump up to a larger size? I've noticed it for a week or so and don't know if it's something I did or you have changed.

    1. Hi kden. Yes I have changed the font size and style. Do you like it? I hope it is a bit easier on the eye.

    2. I didn't have much trouble reading it before but yes this is easy to read. I mostly noticed it with the text on both sides; they seem very stretched out, but it could be my browser and how I have my own settings. Carry on ;-)

  10. Oh John, that was like being back home for a few minutes :) and lovely post, made me smile :)I'm sure Sadie thought the walk was a more productive use of your time, but the effort will soon show with you penny whistle :) I look forward to hearing it :)

  12. John- that was interesting. Here, mouth music is a form of folk music from the hills of Appalachia, where people hum in close harmony to mimic the sound of bagpipes.

At least, this time I was expecting your accent!
