Sadie The German Shepherd On Weight Loss.

John thinks I'm losing weight. He is feeding me double rations. Yes I get lunch too these days. Please don't be concerned about me. Honestly I am all right. Can I ask you not to tell him I'm OK? I have no objections to eating more.

Actually I am a bit worried about him. He is definitely losing weight. Mind you he hasn't been too well lately, what with this cough thing he has. He can't make up his mind whether he feels ill or not. Mind you, nothing, not even feeling below par, stops him admiring his new slim physique in the mirror. I am surprised he hasn't taken a photo to show you. Surprised but really quite grateful!

Guess what he did today. No you can't possibly. It is just too ridiculous. He went off to do some decorating work, and when he got there he said to the people, "Sorry, but I don't feel like working." So he didn't. He came straight back home. It was nice to see him. I had set myself for a long wait until he got back.

It is now four days since a proper long walk. All we do is a half hour walk to the village and back. I realise it is because he feels low, but I hope he gets better soon. Because if we don't take longer walks soon, what with all this extra food, I am going to be a big fat lump!

  1. Thank you for the post Sadie. Please give my best to John and tell him that I hope he feels better soon. He is greatly appreciated and adored by a lot of people. BTW, Tank saw your photo and thought you looked lovely. Take care of yourself and John.

  3. Sadie, it's a dog-gone shame to have to take walks by yourself. Give John my best wishes. Hopefully he will soon be feeling well enough to tag along with you.

  4. Considering the unusual amount of rain you got this year, do you think you both might be suffering from airborne mold spores? Happens here sometimes and causes post-nasal problems in man and beast. Speedy recovery.

  5. Oh Sadie,
I hope you get some good stuff to eat and as for John, give him a bite in the rear end and tell him that's it time you took him for a long walk.

  9. Sadie, keep an eye on John and stay by his side. Give him a lick from time to time to cheer him up.
I hope you get to go for long walks again soon, since we old gals don't need any extra baggage tagging along with us, do we?
Tell John to feel better soon.

  12. Sadie, enjoy the double rations, keep an eye on John. He is losing a pound or two with his bug, I have had it almost 3 weeks but I still weigh the same.

  13. I have said it before... I do not know how you deal with it. I have been wondering if John has settled into one of his low times because of all the emotion he has been through lately. His children are all in his life again and there are the changes in his love life. I know that all of that affects you too. Take care of yourself, Sadie. He will need you to be there for him.

  14. How old is your dog? Hope Sadie is doing well now. So fun to see your dog roaming round the neighborhood freely. I live in the city and too many cars around so when we take Muffin for a walk he had to be leash and oh boy, how he drag us all the way. Still trying to teach him to walk slowly by my side, not successful yet. Hope he doesn't get to read this about Sadie going every where without a leash. Happy blogging to you

  16. I hope John is better soon. You could always go for a little walk around on your own and see if you can find anything that might tempt his appetite. On second thoughts, perhaps not. Well, take care of yourself, Sadie!
