Cholesterol. The Bad Stuff Is Too High.

Just to let you know that I am fine. The recent blood test showed a dangerously high level of cholesterol. I am actively working to get this down. I had the ECG yesterday and am awaiting the results. Things like this need to be addressed because of a family history of heart trouble. Not that I consider myself to have a bad heart. In fact I consider myself to be very healthy for my age.

However there have been times in the past when my heart has been broken. But this seems to be part of life's rich tapestry. I expect I have broken a few hearts myself too, what with me being so attractive to the opposite sex.

Talking about the opposite sex, you should have seen the nurse who did my ECG test. Absolutely gorgeous she is! She couldn't understand why my blood pressure was so high, because it was normal when the doctor took a reading last week. I could have explained that it was because I found her so sexually alluring, but didn't really think it was the time or the place. Obviously I didn't really fancy the doctor!

There are lots of things to tell you about, but they must be for next time. I am quite busy at the moment. Also we are in the midst of a heatwave here in Blighty and it is making me lethargic.

Thank you for the kind and reassuring comments. I will be back soon.

  1. Glad to hear that you have a curable problem, John. Have you been but on Simvastatin? If so, your cholesterol will soon be under control. You know what the real problem is... there are too many good looking ladies where you live! Take care, my friend.

  2. I was certain your diagnosis would be something of this sort. There re many foods that can help lower your cholesterol. All you need to do is a quick search for "foods that help lower cholesterol" and then eat them. They will not get rid of any buidup but they can prevent new problems and lessen existing problems. Take care of yourself in the heat. Lots of fluids, especially water.

  3. I'm glad it's hopefully nothing too serious and you will make the necessary adjustments. You need to keep well for when Lea and I visit next year. Did you get to see my last 2 posts with our 2 songs together. Look after yourself! Thinking of you in a manly way of course!!!

  4. Thanks for letting us know that the medical problem is one that can be treated with food changes and meds.

  5. Thank goodness it's nothing more serious. Some conscious-minded eating and some exercise (hopefully no meds) and you'll be on the mend in no time.
Stay away from the alluring ladies and drink lots of liquids (water not liquor) to get through the heat wave temperatures. Stay safe John.

  6. Glad you are feeling better but you have to take care of yourself, buddy. You have to give that nurse a reason to keep on living so you better get that cholesterol cleared up.

  9. Better to get it down with diet than pills. Mr.T has actually had a heart attack a few years ago and took the statins for about 5 years, they resulted in loss of muscle and a few other problems, the consultant said he was wise to come of them, I think that says it all.
    Still, glad you're alright.
Just do a bit of meditation and stop looking at the ladies. lol
