The National Health Service.

I had a bit of a scare recently. Well, I phoned the doctor's surgery this morning. There were no appointments available but the receptionist said come in after 11 and the doctor will see you. I went and saw the doctor. She gave me a check up, a prescription for some some tablets and a spray thing for under my tongue, arranged a blood test, and sent a letter to the hospital to arrange more tests and a walk on a treadmill. At 4-30 today I was given an ECG. Things were normal. I was very relieved to hear that. All this within a few hours. The NHS is always being bad mouthed by some people but I think it is bloody amazing. Just what happened today has made me feel a whole lot better and less worried. The doctors and nurses do a great job. This is a wonderful country. We are very lucky.

  1. I am so sorry you had to go through all that. I am so happy you are okay. It just goes to show that a person is better off getting things checked than worrying about what might be wrong. Please take care of yourself.

  2. Thank God for the NHS. I've said it before and will keep saying it while I have the breath to speak. So pleased that everything is okay where your health is concerned. We are lucky in this country, aren't we?

  3. Tom has been in and out of hospital for years and we have always had good treatment. The media blow it all out of proportion.
