George's Wildlife Pond.

  1. I certainly did enjoy EHS George's Wildlife Pond. I have been wondering about it. I must ask about the minnows. Did he stock the pond or did they just appear? Maybe they are tadpoles. Thank you for the update.

    1. Hi Emma, George collected a few minnows from a local rife last year. This year there were hundreds of babies. We were surprised to find sticklebacks though. They just appeared. Ducks do visit occasionally, maybe they brought some fish eggs with them.
Rife is the local word for stream.

  2. A lovely place to sit and ponder as well as admiring the surroundings. I can visualise frogs on the lily pads. Wonderful.

  4. Lovely, I was wondering the other day if it was still there with George being away. Thanks for the tour it reminded me of our pond when we had an allotment.
Always eager to see you've posted.
