Due to personal circumstances beyond my control I have decided, after careful and profound consideration that I shall give up on seeking true romance.
However, all is not entirely lost because for the last couple of weeks I have had an imaginary girlfriend instead. Things are going well with us and I am feeling -without getting too excited- quite confident. I hope that this solution will save me from any further heart-ache.
We were going to go out for dinner tonight but have decided to stay in and watch a film on telly instead. To be honest with you I am quite relieved about this because I couldn’t really afford a restaurant meal.
I can’t tell you my imaginary girlfriends name because I haven’t thought of one yet. Also, she wants to keep things private until we get to know each other a bit better. Probably sensible considering my past relationship history.
The phone is ringing. It might be her. See you later.

ReplyDeleteSince you cannot take a photo of your imaginary girlfriend perhaps you could paint her portrait to let us know what she looks like. I must warn you and her that I am choosy about the love connections I allow for my friends. She must be worthy of you or I will make her quite uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteImaginary girlfriends are the best kind - always pleasant and agreeable, you don't have to buy them gifts,....and they don't eat much.
