The Isles Of Scilly

I haven't been around for a while because I'm on holiday. Unusual for me to have a holiday but I am doing some work at the same time.
I am on the Isles of Scilly where Tricia has a holiday home. In a moment of weakness and in an attempt to save her some money I said I would do some decorating work in her house!
It is beautiful here. I am on the main island St Mary's. Just me and Mia the German Shepherd.
Things didn't get off to a very good start when Mia cut her paw just before we got on the ship to come here. She was limping so badly when we arrived that I had to take her to see the vet. She is on anti-biotics now and seems not to be suffering. Cost me all my spending money though. I wouldn't mind being a vet!
I have almost finished decorating and will be heading back on Wednesday evenings ship. Should be home by Friday. I do miss my humble little home and will be glad to be home,

This has not been a very well written blog I am sorry, but to be honest I am very tired. Be good to get home for a rest. Sorry about the photos too but wouldn't you know it my camera has broken. Most of these are from my phone camera.

                                                             Love from John and Mia.

Thanks For Poetry

Thank you wild
And thank you free
Thanks for all you’ve given me
Thank you life
For loves embrace
For all the sweetness in this place
Thank you calm
And thanks inform
For shelter from each violent storm
And thank you earth and sky and sea
For being part of what is me
Thank you truth and sanctuary
Thanks belief
And thank you time and memory
And when troubles scour my mind
Thank you for the strength I find
Thanks for depth
And inner power
To overcome a laboured hour
And on those days when life goes wrong
Thanks for knowing I belong
And yes wild
And yes free
Thanks for standing here with me.

Teddy Boys Trousers.

Yesterday an old bloke marched right up to Mia German Shepherd Bain outside the co-op. He knelt beside her and stroked her head. "I used to have an Alsation," he said, "my Alsation hated anyone wearing drainpipe trousers. Almost took a Teddy Boy's leg off once!"

While he was telling me this Mia was licking his face enthusiastically.

Well, I'll tell you. I like "Alsations" too. But there is no way I would ever walk up to one I didn't know and let it lick my face!

My extremely handsome son George and Mia the German Shepherd.

This is an example of what a lovely character Mia is. Okay she might be a bit iffy with other dogs, but as far as I'm aware she ain't never had an inkling to take the leg off a Teddy Boy. Ain't no law says she has to like all other dogs all the time just like there ain't no law says us humans beans have to all like each other all the time. Drainpipe trousers or not!
